Nearly two hundred British investors who lost large sums in a failed property development venture in southern Italy have been unable to recover their costs from the international law firm that advised them.
The England and Wales High Court found the firm, Giambrone, liable in negligence in August 2017, but the firm's delaying tactics have now led the court to award the claimants costs against Giambrone's indemnity insurers AIG (Europe) under s51 of the Senior Court.
